You’re Not Having Déjà Vu, We Did It Again

This year has been entirely unpredictable; we have all dealt with so many challenges. COVID-19 and its consequences have completely changed the way we live our lives. From thousands of people losing their jobs in Arizona to an unimaginable number of people falling ill, having to take time off for themselves or take care of their loved ones, this combination of things has left many of our most financially vulnerable, struggling to cope with financial stressors. We know our organization can step up and relieve some of that struggle!

Opportunity4Kids has done as much as we could to adapt to these times. We started providing technology and internet access to youth who needed it most for distanced learning. In September, we provided one of our best partners, the Boys & Girls Clubs Parsons Branch, a donation of $10,000, which helped 167 youth attend the Club for distanced learning!

We knew in these unprecedented times with COVID-19 we could not stop there. Yesterday, we surprised the Boys & Girls Clubs with another donation of $10,000. This donation will help many youth throughout the Valley attend the Club in 2021! Our mission has always been to give youth whose families are financially unstable a helping hand, providing access to extracurricular activities. The Boys & Girls Club provides a safe place for youth to go when school is not in session. For the foreseeable future, the Club will remain open with extended hours while schools remain closed.

In addition to our contribution, we also provided the Club with toys for their kiddos! The toys were collected with the help of a group of incredibly generous individuals from Buffalo in the Desert. A local organization of people originally from Buffalo, New York, who now reside in Arizona. They collected so many toys we could not fit them all in the Club’s lobby for pictures. We are so grateful for their support and know the kiddos will enjoy the many toys donated through their toy drive!
