Who’s your favorite sports team?

Although I rarely have the chance to watch sports, my favorite sports teams are the Suns, Diamondbacks, and Cardinals. I always root for the home team, lots of Phoenix pride!

How would you describe the perfect Saturday?

Catching up with friends and family, spending time at the pool, participating in any physical activities, and going out for a great dinner. If there’s a festival in town, artist that I enjoy, or a great comedian I’ll definitely try to catch the show.

What is the most played song on your iPod, MP3, etc?

My taste in music fluctuates with my mood, the weather, or the changing events of the day. But recently the top choices have been; The Avett Brothers, Arctic Monkeys, Vampire Weekend, and The Black Keys. All of these bands are extremely talented, and they actually write, sing, and perform their own music. Something not all artist can say this day and age, *cough* Miley Cyrus.

What is the most rewarding part of working with opportunity 4 kids?

Knowing you made a difference in a child’s life. It doesn’t really hit you until you see a picture of a happy kid with a big smile on their face, and then you think, wow, I really brought joy into this person’s life. It gives you a sense of fulfillment and contentment knowing you made a positive impact on your community.

What is your fondest childhood memory?

When I was a kid my family owned a beautiful little rural cottage, nestled away in a tiny Ukrainian village. My family spent part of every summer there. We had no running water, telephone, or electricity, and we were completely cut off from the outside world. But it allowed us to appreciate the simple pleasures of life and nature. A typical day involved; picking sunflower seeds and wild berries, swimming in the lake, wandering aimlessly in the forest, and chasing the pigs and chickens roaming about the dirt roads. It was ideal in every sense of the word.
